Job Description

We are looking for a Junior Performance Engineer with 3–5 years of hands-on experience in performance testing, monitoring, and analysis of modern applications. This role focuses on day-to-day performance engineering activities, working closely with Development, QA, DevOps, and Product teams to ensure scalability, stability, and reliability across multiple digital products.
This is not an expert or architect role. We are looking for someone strong in fundamentals, curious, hands-on, and willing to grow while working across a portfolio of products, not just a single application.

Key Responsibilities
Performance Testing & Execution

Design and execute performance, load, stress, and endurance tests for web applications, REST APIs, and microservices-based systems
Develop, maintain, and enhance performance test scripts using JMeter
Define realistic workload models based on business and usage patterns
Execute performance tests across environments such as QA and Pre-Production
Prepare and manage test data and coordinate with teams for environment readiness

Monitoring & Performance Analysis

Monitor application and system performance using APM and observability tools such as Datadog, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, New Relic, or Azure Monitor
Analyze key performance indicators including:

Response times (P90 / P95)
Throughput and concurrency
Error rates
CPU, memory, garbage collection, and database metrics

Identify performance bottlenecks and provide clear, actionable insights to engineering teams

Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with Developers, QA, DevOps, and Product teams to explain performance issues and recommendations
Create performance test reports with meaningful metrics and observations
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and validation of fixes
Actively participate in cross-team discussions and reviews

Continuous Improvement

Contribute to improving performance testing frameworks, standards, and best practices
Support integration of performance testing into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, etc.)
Assist in defining performance benchmarks, SLAs, and non-functional requirements
Continuously learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and approaches in performance engineering

Working knowledge of SQL for test data validation and analysis
Hands-on exposure to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, with understanding of performance testing in cloud-hosted environments
Familiarity with microservices and containerized architectures, and their performance implications
Experience or exposure to CI/CD pipelines and automated performance testing
Working knowledge of APM / monitoring tools for performance analysis and bottleneck identification
