Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Lead Estimator for a local client. The Estimator plays a critical role throughout the entire bidding and preconstruction process, serving as both a technical expert and a primary point of communication. Estimators coordinate closely with design engineers to obtain drawings and engineering input, as well as with multiple internal stakeholders to ensure alignment across the organization. Success in this role requires strong interpersonal skills and a proactive communication style, as estimators must build relationships, connect with key individuals, and confidently pick up the phone to drive initiatives forward. Each estimator takes full ownership of their assigned projects, managing client questions, scope changes, and vendor communication from pre-bid through final presentation and negotiation. They guide clients through the project, clearly explaining scope, risks, and considerations, and lead the effort until a project manager is assigned. Even after a bid is awarded and a PM or CM takes over, estimators remain actively involved, assisting with buyouts, supporting the handoff, and providing ongoing expertise. They continue to answer questions, address concerns, and navigate challenging conversations with clients, adapting their approach to different personalities while maintaining accountability for the job until it is ultimately awarded or lost.
