Leadership & Strategy
Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data platform administrators and engineers.
Define the strategic roadmap for data platform operations, modernization, and continuous improvement.
Establish and enforce best practices around platform reliability, automation, performance tuning, and security.
Platform Administration & Engineering
Oversee end-to-end administration of Azure Databricks, including workspace governance, cluster management, performance optimization, and cost control.
Manage Azure SQL Database and SQL Server platforms, including provisioning, monitoring, tuning, upgrades, and security hardening.
Administer and optimize additional data technologies (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, Data Factory) as applicable.
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness across all data environments.
Operational Excellence
Develop and maintain operational runbooks, standards, and automation frameworks.
Drive proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident management for all data platforms.
Collaborate with data engineering, architecture, security, and business teams to ensure reliable and scalable data operations.
Governance, Security & Compliance
Implement and maintain data governance, data access controls, and platform security in alignment with enterprise policies.
Partner with IT security to ensure compliance with regulatory and audit requirements.
Lead cost optimization initiatives across data platforms.

Required Skills & Experience
12–15 years of experience in data platform administration, engineering, or database management.
Strong expertise in Azure Databricks administration and operational optimization.
Deep experience with Azure SQL, SQL Server, and related database ecosystems.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure Data Lake, Synapse Analytics, Snowflake, or similar technologies.
Proven leadership experience managing technical teams in enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of networking, storage, identity, and security concepts in cloud environments.
Experience with automation using PowerShell, Python, or similar scripting languages.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with data platform cost governance in Azure.
Knowledge of DevOps practices, CICD pipelines, or Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, ARM, Bicep).
Familiarity with data governance frameworks and tools (Purview, Collibra, etc.).
Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Data Engineer, Databricks Admin Associate, or equivalent.
