Job Description
The Underground Construction Supervisor oversees daily underground telecom construction activities—including conduit installation, trenching, directional boring, vault/handhole placement, fiber pathways, and restoration. This leader manages multiple crews, ensures all work meets safety and quality standards, and coordinates with engineering, permitting, vendors, and project management to support long‑term maintenance and buildout projects.
Crew Leadership: Supervise and direct underground construction crews; assign workloads, set production expectations, and ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.
Underground Construction Oversight: Manage trenching, plowing, directional boring, conduit/duct bank installation, vault and splice‑case placement, and site restoration activities.
Technical Coordination: Review construction plans, redlines, and underground engineering designs; validate constructability and ensure adherence to client and industry specifications.
Utility Locating & Damage Prevention: Verify utility markings, ensure safe digging practices, and coordinate with locating services to avoid conflicts.
Quality & Compliance: Perform jobsite inspections, enforce safety protocols, and ensure compliance with OSP standards, environmental requirements, and client SOPs.
Project Tracking: Monitor progress, document daily production, identify field issues, and communicate updates to project managers, permitting teams, and stakeholders.
Stakeholder Coordination: Serve as the primary field point of contact for subcontractors, inspectors, permitting authorities, and customers; support long‑term general maintenance (BAU) initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
3–5+ years of underground telecommunications construction experience (conduit, trenching, directional boring, restoration). [Raleigh Br...ce in chat | Teams]
Prior leadership experience supervising construction crews.

Ability to read/interpret construction drawings, fiber maps, and engineering packages.
Solid organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
Valid driver’s license; willingness to travel between job sites.
