Job Description

Insight Global is looking to hire an Automation Engineer for one of our largest 250 clients to sit in Erie, PA. As an Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing sustainable automation solutions that advance our manufacturing processes. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of manufacturing team members, engineering, operations, and quality to develop solutions that improve operational performance and aid our production team members in day-to-day manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate will have 4 to 8 years of experience in automation engineering, a strong background in control systems, mechanical design, communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automation systems to enhance safety, ergonomics, efficiency, and accuracy.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, quality, manufacturing).
- Identify and evaluate automation opportunities across the division.
- Participate in LEAN events and promote continuous improvement.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation system issues.
- Maintain documentation (SOPs, user manuals).
- Stay current with automation technologies and NVH methodologies.
- Train and support team members on automation systems and best practices.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary: 70-120k (depending on years of experience)

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Engineering (automation, mechanical, electrical)
- 4-8 years’ experience in an engineering role
- Strong knowledge of Control systems, PLC programming, and HMI design
- Proficiency in programming languages for equipment and robotics
- Experience with automation tools/software (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider Electric).
- Understanding of fundamental manufacturing methods

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Knowledg of Parker Lord manufacturing processes (e.g., elastomer, bonding, assembly).
- Product design experience.
- Advanced degree (Master’s in engineering, MBA, etc.).
