Job Description

As a panel builder, your daily duties and responsibilities include:

Dimension and layout of back panels and enclosures
Mounting of components to back panels and enclosures
Routing and bundling of wire and cables neatly to meet wiring standards
Point-to-point wiring of relays, controls, PLCs, I/O Modules, VFDs, Interfaces, & Instrumentation
Troubleshoot panels as needed to eliminate wiring errors and component malfunctions
Maintain red line drawing mark-ups of changes required during fabrication
Communicate red line changes to Engineer or Team Leader for revision prior to completion
Communicate effectively with all team members, leads, builders, engineers, and the Project Manager
Perform other duties as assigned or needed

Required Skills & Experience

- HS Diploma/ GED - vo tech as well
- General knowledge of electrical circuits, components, and electrical theory/ terminology
- Ability to read schematic drawings, wiring diagrams, and design schematics for electrical control panels/ layout drawings
- Ability to understand basic electrical troubleshooting as it relates to testing circuit functionality and identifying potential problems
- Able to work with hand and power tools like drill saws - hole punch - label maker for wires
Valid drivers license - could potentially drive a company vehicle for traveling

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Technical Certification, Associates, or BA
- UL 508A certification
- ETL Panel Builder Program
Experience using soldering irons to piece together cables, wires, and other components or experience using a grinder and/or buffing wheel
