Job Description

Day to Day:
Insight Global is seeking a Systems Administrator for a small local client. The System Administrator will be responsible for overseeing the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the esri GIS enterprise systems, ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of the GIS infrastructure. This role includes managing spatial data, integrating GIS with other enterprise systems, developing GIS applications, and providing advanced technical support.
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Health Monitoring:
Regularly check the health of the system to ensure optimal performance.
Ensure the portal is running smoothly and efficiently.
Verify that data is in a readable and editable format.
Ensure data is compressed appropriately.
Monitor the state of the database to ensure its integrity and reliability.
2. System Administration:
Oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of esri GIS enterprise systems (currently at version 11.3).
Manage hardware, software, databases, and applications related to GIS.
Ensure the reliability, security, and performance of GIS infrastructure.
3. Data Management:
Ensure the accuracy, integrity, reliability, and accessibility of spatial data.
Implement best practices for data management and storage.
4. System Integration:
Integrate GIS with other enterprise systems (e.g., Cartegraph, Salesforce, Computronix, etc.) and databases.
Facilitate API communication between systems to ensure seamless integration.
5. Application Development:
Develop GIS applications and tools within the esri platform to meet user needs and improve operational efficiency.
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
6. Technical Support:
Provide advanced technical guidance and support for the GIS team and GIS applications.
Assist GIS users within the organization with troubleshooting and technical issues.
Conduct training sessions and create documentation to support GIS users.

Required Skills & Experience

System Administration:

Data Management: Expereince ensuring the accuracy, integrity, reliability and accessibility of spatial data.
System Integration: Integrate GIS with other enterprise systems (e.g. Cartegraph, salesforce, Computronix, etc.) and databases.
Application Development: Experience developing GIS applications and tools in esri platform to meet user needs and improve operational efficiency.
Technical Support: Provide advanced technical guidance and support for the GIS Team and GIS applications, services and GIS users within the organization.
