Insight Global is in search of a Junior Geotechnical Engineer to support one of our largest Engineering Consulting clients in Pittsburgh, PA. This Engineer will provide support for various geotechnical and engineering design for commercial and industrial projects on various Energy & Commercial Construction Projects in PA,WV,OH area. Primary responsibilities include to support geotechnical field investigations, oversight of geotechnical testing, data review and report preparation as required. Additional responsibilities could also include assistance with review of construction monitoring and testing and associated regulatory compliance.
o Perform geotechnical engineering, construction observation, and design assignments under the supervision of experienced engineering personnel. Technical and management responsibilities can increase in complexity with training under close supervision.
o Assigned tasks may include field data collection, construction monitoring, calculations, preliminary design, and drafting for geotechnical engineering evaluations and reports.
o Assist with processing field data, performing geotechnical analyses, report and drawing preparation, and assist in preparation of engineering proposals. Senior engineering professionals will direct and provide peer review of all work
o Periodic travel, including overnight stays, to project sites to oversee field investigations, construction QA/QC activities, audits, or other activities will be required.

- Bachelors in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering (ABET accredited)
- 3+ years of experience civil / Geotech
o Civil engineering design, Site development projects for energy and industrial clients.
o Conventional SPT and CPT-based in-situ testing investigations, evaluating lab testing data, performing geotechnical & structural analyses and designs, and providing construction QA/QC.
- Engineer in Training Certificate (EIT)
- Experience with Coal-Fired Power, Mining, Energy, Oil & Gas, Waste Industries, and other Industrial Clients
- Experience with geotechnical and geo environmental engineering projects related to CCR disposal facility development and closure, dams and levees, tailings dams, mining, soft ground engineering, and oil & gas civil site development.
- Experience w/ advanced analyses & numerical modeling (slope stability, groundwater and seepage, liquefaction triggering, seismic response and deformation), and instrumentation expertise
