Job Description

A client of Insight Global that specializes in secure voice communications systems is looking to hire a Software Engineer to join their team. This client is a small privately held company with on-site hardware and software design, as well as on-site manufacturing and test. The close coupling of design and production under one roof allows this client to create products and systems rapidly while maintaining the highest possible quality. This candidate will have the opportunity to interact with other departments daily, providing a significant opportunity to develop their career further as they diversify their experiences. This candidate will have the opportunity for extreme growth, as this client is looking for someone to eventually take over the entire engineering department and shape it how they see fit.



The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about software engineering and can help them to develop and install software solutions. This person will be responsible for gathering user requirements, writing code in various languages like Java and C/C++, and working with Linux and Windows environments.



Day to Day:

Develop, maintain, debug, deploy, and test software products

Test device drivers for Linux

Design and test API and user examples

Develop object-oriented software applications

Work with software team to determine root cause of failures, identify requirements and solutions at the lowest replaceable unit, and identify optimal implementation of solutions.

Work with software team to implement technical designs and peer review cade changes

Work with software releases and version control

Provide support to testing group

Provide second-tier customer support of software products

Produce software documentation

Investigate and use new technologies where relevant

Protect operations by keeping information confidential

Provide information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing development and service issues.

Accomplish engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed.



This role is slated as a 6 month contract to hire, and candidates will be required to be in-house for the start of the contract so that they can get acclimated and learn the business. After this period, there will be ample remote flexibility offered. We are looking to pay anywhere between $45/hr-$80/hr depending on skillset and experience. Apply Today!

Required Skills & Experience

Proficient in C, C++, and Java

Proficient with both Linux and Windows systems

Experience with relational databases

SQL experience

Knowledge of Linux Administration and shell scripting

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of algorithms and data structures (SIP, RTP Payloads, RTP Codecs)
