Our pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA is seeking an Associate Scientist to join their growing team and help support their mission to make universal, off-the-shelf cell therapy products a reality for cancer patients. The successful candidate will have an immunology background, experience working with T-cells or other immune cells as well as the ability to execute in vitro assays to study human T cell biology. In this role, the individual will be responsible for optimizing CAR directed cell therapy functionality of drug product candidates and other responsibilities entail:
-Cell culture of human cell lines, primary human blood cells and iPSC cells.
-Carry out experiments to determine the function of our cell therapy products by characterizing CAR performance, expression and effects on cells with methods including cytotoxicity assays, flow cytometry, cytokine secretion.
-Measure cytokines or phospho-proteins in samples using Meso Scale Discovery, capillary electrophoresis (Peggy, Wes, etc.)
-Analyze results of in vitro assays, make graphs and present findings to the team, recommend next steps
-Handle large data sets and express the results of experiments graphically to colleagues

-A minimum of a B.S. degree with previous experience working with T-cells or other immune cells
-Ability to design, perform and interpret complex assays with human immune cells or cell lines
-Experience carrying out in vitro experiments involving flow cytometry, immune cell isolation from whole blood or tissues, Incucyte assays, Meso Scale or ELISA cytokine assays
-Experience culturing human cells, performing cell counts and viability assessments and transducing or transfecting cells
-Self-starter with the ability to learn new techniques, work independently and manage multiple experiments simultaneously
-Ability to contribute to various projects outside of their own, and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions
-Immuno-Oncology experience
