Job Description

Overview:

Plan and direct the accounting operations of the company. Responsible for monitoring the company's financial health by maintaining, managing, and analyzing financial statements, payroll, budgets, tax compliance issues, and more.



Duties and Responsibilities:

* Daily

Determine cash needs; transfer funds between companies to cover accounts payable payments.

Monitor ACH payments & Wire Transfers and relay information to Accounting personnel.

Record cash receipts

* Weekly

Accounts receivable - help with collections on problem receivables.

Select accounts payable invoices to pay.

Prepare cash flow based on previous week's cash balance and expected payments/receivables.

Perform credit inquiries on new customers

* Monthly

Calculate and enter in QuickBooks journal entries:

• Depreciation.

• Rent.

• Prepaid Commercial Insurances.

• Prepaid Professional E&O Insurance.

• Allocate Personnel Costs to the client of Insight Global.

• Allocate The clients Personnel Costs.

• Intercompany Expenses Paid by another unnamed company for the IG client .

• Intercompany Expenses Paid

• Allocate Stock Materials & Supplies to Shipped Jobs.

• 401(k) Match Accrual. Changes in Underbillings and Overbillings.

• Professional Fees Accrual.

• Interest on Mutual Fund Sweep Account.

• Reclass Receivable from Shareholder to Distributions.

• Distributions or Intercompany Loan

Prepare internal financial statement package.

Prepare Work-In-Process Schedule.

Reconcile intercompany accounts for the client

Reconcile Accounts Payable Aging to general ledger.

Reconcile Accounts Receivable Aging to general ledger.

Reconcile inventory detail to QuickBooks.

Record total job costs allocated for projects to the general ledger.

Prepare and maintain a comprehensive commercial insurance schedule.

Calculate costs of stock inventory and supplies used on jobs based on data from Production Manager (Costing Sheets).

Prepare and pay sales & use taxes for:

• PA

• FL

• MA

• MD

• TX

• NV

* Quarterly

Prepare salesmen commission calculations

Prepare and pay sales & use taxes for:

• CA

• NC

• NJ

• NY

• NV

* Annually

Prepare year-end audit schedules and supporting documentation, and work with Corporate Auditors to issue financial statements.

Address correspondence received from registered foreign agent(s) from various states.

Prepare annual reports for states in which the company is registered to do business.

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:

* Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field

* 3-5 years of experience as an accountant, financial analyst or related job title with the ability to create financial reports, year end audit schedules, AP/AR reconciliations and examine multi-state taxes.

* Experience using QuickBooks & Excel (VLOOKUP's and pivot tables)

* Ability to prepare year end audit schedules, credit inquires for new clients, determine cash needs, etc.

Comes from a construction or architecture industry background
