Job Description
Our large pharmaceutical client in Spring House, PA is seeking a passionate and talented lab-based Scientist to support the Immuno-Oncology (I-O) portfolio within the R&D organization. This position will be responsible for driving forward scientific research programs with novel assay implementation, generating translational data, and interrogating Immuno-Oncology assets in a dynamic research lab environment. The candidate will participate in a highly collaborative and interactive team atmosphere while executing experimental approaches to support preclinical biology and clinical assets.
Primary responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):
-Design, perform, and interpret complex in vitro, ex vivo, and in vivo experiments
-Isolation and culture of primary cells from blood and tissue
-Execute multi-parameter flow cytometry (FACS) assays end-to-end including set-up and running of samples on the instrument & downstream analysis
-Design, develop, and perform robust in vitro cell assays that incorporate functional readouts, including activation, proliferation, cytokine production, and cytotoxicity
-Analyze and present data in professional 'publication ready' format
-Work independently and manage multiple experiments simultaneously
-Contribute to various projects outside of his/her own and collaborate with stakeholders from all relevant functions
Required Skills & Experience
-Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Biology
-3+ years of relevant lab-based research experience
-Expertise in immune cell isolation and experience with primary cell culture techniques
-Hands-on experience executing highly multiplexed flow cytometry (ideally >6 colors) and proficient in analysis of such multi-color flow cytometry experiments with the appropriate software (e.g., FlowJo, Cytobank)
-Experience with cell killing assays by Flow or IncuCyte
-ELISA or MSD assay experience
-Background in oncology and/or immunology is strongly preferred
-Ability to understand and willingness to integrate current scientific literature into research practice
-Flexibility and interest in learning/developing new techniques and skills in accordance with the research program needs; commitment to meeting timelines to drive therapies forward to benefit oncology patients
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
-Experience with panel development and Spectral Cytometry & associated instrumentation
-Tissue culture experience
-T-cell experience
-Experience with additional assays such as TaqMan PCR, western blot, lentiviral transduction, transfection and cloning of stable cell lines, ADCC/CDC, etc.
