Job Description
The Associate Service Specialist (Regional Deployment Team) plays a critical role in an emerging area of our business, playing an integral part of our mission to revolutionize the pharmaceutical industry's approach to physician engagement. As an early-stage company, we search for individuals to join our team who are driven and have entrepreneurial determination. The Company has experienced rapid, consistent growth for the past 5+ years. We pride ourselves on being a "meritocracy" where team members have exceptional opportunity for career growth. While we focus on working together to continue the growth and success of our business, we place emphasis on the individual career growth and development of our team members. The company operates a "service-oriented selling model" to support pharmaceutical and other healthcare brands. As such, it requires sales skills and a sales-oriented profile. However, it is not "hard selling" where you take an order in the office. Rather it is more of an influence sale, representing our customers, engaging, and presenting information, but without hard closing.
The Associate Service Specialist (Regional Deployment Team) involves traveling to physicians' offices providing pharmaceutical resources and information to physicians and other healthcare professionals (HCPs) in their offices. In the Regional Deployment Team, the Assoc. Service Specialist splits time between a "headquarter" territory covering assigned targets on a regular basis and also traveling to cover vacant territories (e.g., when an employee leaves the company, is on vacation, is on leave, etc.). Vacancies are hard to predict, so in this position, you need to be able to deploy on relatively short notice and willing to be on the road for extended periods of time. The Regional Deployment Team Assoc. Service Specialists will spend each day making visits to physician's offices, either in your headquarter location or in an assigned territory should you be deployed for vacancy coverage responsibilities. In this position, the size of the headquarter territory is substantial and involves an extensive amount of driving, whether in the headquarter or vacant territory. Most vacancy assignments will be within a 6-hour drive of your home, although some could be further away than that. When you deploy to cover a vacant territory, you will drive to the cities you get deployed to cover. We provide you with paid drive time, an enhanced car allowance, and cover hotel, meals, and other direct travel expenses (e.g., tolls, parking). This position is a great opportunity to travel, but you must consider that it requires an extensive amount of flexibility to deploy on short notice. When not on vacancy assignments, the Regional Deployment Team Assoc. Service Specialist will cover a territory with a regular route of physicians with whom the Regional Deployment Team Assoc. Service Specialist will need to establish on-going relationships. Most time will be spent calling on physician offices in the assigned territory, with a modest amount of planning and administrative work to be done to report activity and ensure record keeping.
