Job Description

The BIM Modeler 3 is a journey level modeling position, and is responsible for providing modeling efforts for both project delivery and standards. This is a member of the production team that will create most of the detailed drawings for a project and may function as a Detailer as determined by their supervisor. Knowledge of Autodesk Navis Works, Autodesk Design Review and working knowledge of 3D layout and design.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop Revit models from marked-up drawings in alignment with EC standards
• Set up views, manage electronic drawings, and maintain proper document organization/archiving
• Prepare drawing sets, support document transmittals, and manage file downloads/uploads (SharePoint, FTP, etc.)
• Maintain confidentiality and protect company intellectual property
• Create and manage Revit worksets and support worksharing processes
• Translate verbal and written direction into accurate design documents
• Utilize advanced Revit functions (families, views, sheets, schedules, filters, etc.)
• Import external documents (spreadsheets, images, files) into Revit
• Coordinate 3D models across trades and collaborate with field teams for layout, prefabrication, and dimensioned drawings
• Support or lead laser scanning efforts and coordinate 3D model creation from scan data
• Participate in model-driven job layout and verify dimensions using tools like Total Station
• Manage document transmission (digital and hard copy) and support printing/reproduction systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Design Review, and Microsoft Office (eVolve/Accubid a plus)
• Strong understanding of 2D/3D modeling, layout, and multi-trade coordination
• Experience with Revit worksets, worksharing, and advanced modeling tools
• Familiarity with design-build environments (preferred)
• Ability to read, understand, and help interpret contracts
• Strong communication, collaboration, and basic negotiation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering or related field
• An electrical background is strongly preferred to support trade-specific modeling and coordination.
