Job Description
A client in the Portland area is seeking a Controls System Programmer to support building automation and HVAC control system projects. This individual will be responsible for programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting BAS (Building Automation Systems) across new construction and retrofit projects.
This role will partner closely with project managers, engineers, and field teams to design and implement control system solutions that meet project specifications. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically strong in BAS programming, and comfortable working both independently and in a team environment to ensure systems are operating efficiently and reliably.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in building automation controls, HVAC controls, or related construction environments
• Experience with Tridium/Niagara (N4 certification preferred)
• Familiarity with Distech Controls systems
• Strong experience programming and troubleshooting control systems
• Working knowledge of HVAC systems and BAS protocols (BACnet, Modbus)
• Experience installing, commissioning, and supporting BAS systems in the field
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
• Experience working on both new construction and retrofit building projects
Exposure to construction project workflows or mechanical/electrical project management
