A client of Insight Global in the railcar manufacturing industry is looking for a Master Data Administrator. The Master Data Administrator reports to the Manager of Fleet Data and is a member of the Leasing and Fleet Management organization. This position is a key part of our data transformation as we prepare for a growing leasing and fleet management services market. Part of this data transformation includes transitioning master data from multiple legacy applications to a single next generation master data management (MDM) platform. A successful candidate will have experience working with large data sets and have a keen eye for details as we transition and cleanse data to the new platform as well as enter and maintain existing data in new as well as legacy systems. This role does require someone who is data-minded, comfortable in technical conversations, and experienced working with master data and integrations. The person in this role will support day-to-day data administration, data cleanup, and integration-related activities while partnering closely with technical teams and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities Include:
Serve as the data owner and subject matter expert for Leasing and Fleet Management master data
Support customer onboarding by collecting and validating required reference data for new customers and vendors, communicating directly via email and phone in a professional and friendly manner
Fulfill internal data update requests, independently analyzing and executing updates within the MDM platform and legacy systems (including record matching, validation, and survivorship), and communicate resolution within agreed timelines
Perform all data updates with strong attention to detail, understanding downstream impacts and consulting stakeholders as needed
Collaborate closely with Service Delivery Teams and Subject Matter Experts to ensure accurate data updates and evaluate upstream and downstream implications for end users
Ensure adherence to Leasing and Fleet Management standard operating procedures, contributing to process improvements and updating SOP documentation as processes evolve
Expand working knowledge of additional master reference data domains within Leasing and Fleet Management
Follow established electronic document management practices, including use of SharePoint and OnBase

Required Skills & Experience
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
3+ years of experience in business data management and customer service
Hands-on experience working with master data in a business or enterprise environment
Experience with Master Data Management tools (e.g., Informatica, RailTO, Anaconda, or similar; tool‑agnostic)
Understanding of data modeling concepts (entities, relationships, attributes)
Familiarity with system integrations and data flows (integration-aware; no development required)
Experience navigating and maintaining data within Salesforce
Strong Excel skills, including working with datasets, data validation, and data cleanup
Fast, accurate typing and data entry skills; ability to quickly learn new software tools
Highly detail‑oriented, data‑minded, and focused on accuracy and consistency
Organized, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, and comfortable with routine administrative data work
Strong written communication skills; able to communicate clearly and professionally via email with internal and external partners
Self‑starter able to work independently with limited supervision in a hybrid/remote environment
Willing and able to work onsite per the required hybrid schedule
Interest and aptitude to learn about railcars, railcar components, and industry rules
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools
Exposure to ERP or enterprise systems such as D365, Epicor, or similar platforms
Experience supporting data migration, legacy system modernization, or enterprise data initiatives related to analytics, reporting, or AI enablement
Background working with contract, asset, leasing, fleet, or operational data
Comfortable working on small, lean teams during periods of transition or rapid change
