Job Description
An outpatient rehabilitation facility in Salem, Oregon is seeking a full-time Certified Hand Therapist to join a collaborative and highly specialized rehab team. This role focuses on post-operative and complex upper-extremity care, working closely with on-site Hand Surgeons and Physician Assistants in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities
-Evaluate and treat patients with post-surgical, traumatic, and repetitive-use upper extremity conditions
-Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to restore functional use
-Fabricate and manage custom orthoses and splints
-Educate patients on home exercise programs, ergonomics, and injury prevention
-Document evaluations, treatments, and progress in compliance with regulations
-Collaborate with surgeons, PAs, and interdisciplinary team members
-Supervise therapy aides and students as needed
-Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Additional Details
-Average caseload: 8–10 patients per day (primarily 1:1 care)
-Strong mentorship and onboarding (2–4 weeks of training)
-Direct collaboration with hand surgeons

Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly rate ranges from $42.00/hr (newer experience) up to $60.89/hr (15+ years experience)
- $15,000 relocation package, including third-party housing support!

Required Skills & Experience
-Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy program
-Active Oregon OT/PT license or ability to obtain
-Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) required
-1+ year of hand therapy experience required (2–3 years preferred)
-Strong splinting and orthotic fabrication experience
-BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
