Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a night shift Maintenance Operations Manager for it's freight and cargo client to work at Portland Bulk Terminal beginning in early July, but with a desired start date before then in Vancouver, Washington. This individual will be responsible for oversight of 4 union maintenance professionals in day-to-day operations of mechanical maintenance, both preventative and reactive.

Machinery: drill presses, lathe, milling machine, chain falls, jacks, slings, burning torches, and other types of portable and hand tools

Additional responsibilities will include the following:

*Responsible for the directing, improving, implementing and supervising the mechanical maintenance of all Terminal equipment including comprehensive preventative maintenance
*Responsible for all Terminal equipment mechanical safety and employee safeguarding
*Represents Maintenance Department at internal and external safety meeting as required by Management
*Design and assume responsibility for all maintenance of equipment under their supervision
*May assist with hiring, discipline and termination of all maintenance personnel
*Work with all departments to reach operational objectives
Provide input to the company regarding specifications of the operational equipment
*Meet regularly with vendors to secure supply and cost objectives
*Evaluate and control all maintenance costs
*Evaluate maintenance programs to ensure they are accomplishing the intended objectives
*Provide training of maintenance personnel to improve performance and skills
*Stress workplace safety and training and participation in safety programs
*Communicate company policies to all maintenance personnel
*Participate in the acquisition of new or replacement equipment and disposition of used equipment
*Be familiar with computer control, management, and diagnostic programs that are used on the equipment under your supervision
*Constantly evaluate new technology as it is applied to equipment utilized by the company
*Communicate with operations department for dayside and nightside operation schedule
*Develop work for maintenance based on operations schedule for multiple shifts
*Review PMs completed and write corrective w/os needed from pm findings
*Inventory control, parts checked out to jobs, re-order parts needed, payroll for maintenance as needed for multiple shifts

Required Skills & Experience

*Two (2) year AA degree or equivalent experience working in maintenance and management
*7+ years experience in a related
*3+ years managing related union labor
*Valid CPR certificate required
*Must have valid DL
*Thorough knowledge or principles of terminal operations
*Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
*Knowledge of safety and accident prevention codes and regulations
*Knowledge and understanding of cargo stowage and stability strongly desired
*Knowledge of local unions dispatching

*Journeymans License as a Millwright
