Job Description

A local government entity in Oregon is looking for an Assistant City Engineer to join their team, to supervise and maintain oversight on the workforce and city projects. 50% of this resource's time will be maintaining division oversight and supporting the city engineers, while the other 50% will be hands on supporting special projects. Responsibilities include managing the growth and deliverables for the Engineering function of the City, including supervising team members and technicians, as well as permitting. Project supports include a large capital project delivery -- which includes an $18 million city project. Schedule includes 4 day/10-hour shifts per week onsite with minimal overtime required and occasional remote capabilities.

Required Skills & Experience

* Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering OR an active Professional Engineering license

* 5+ years of relevant experience in a Civil Engineering role

* Excellent communication skills and proven success presenting at public meetings, planning commission, and cross-collaboration with peer teams such as public utilities, private development community, and/or franchise utilities

* Strong management experience, specifically with resource planning, budgeting, and overseeing large scale projects

* Proven experience communicating and building with external agencies

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience supporting change management projects and/or working as a change manager

* Experience implementing asset management principles such as Tyler Technologies

* Experience working in the public sector
