The Pricing Analyst is accountable for processing deposit treasury management and corporate credit card exception pricing requests as well as working closely with sales to process TPS business for both existing and new clients.

Key accountabilities include providing advisory support and expertise to the sales force in the development and approval of pricing solutions that are favorable for the customer and profitable for the Bank. Additionally accomplish the day to day operations and deliverables to ensure timely and meaningful Deal Review flow of approvals in compliance with pricing authorities and tracking of results. This role will provide tracking of wins/losses competitive information exception pricing trends and deposit pricing.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Delivery Operational Effectiveness:

  • As part of a team effectively handle exception client pricing requests recording tracking and completing Deals in accordance with SLA and ensuring alternative price/structuring strategies are provided to the sales force where warranted. Cover cross border and cross product pricing desk as required.
  • Understand the pricing methodology models and calculations in order to provide explanations and guidance to Sales/Relationship Managers
  • Assist Senior Manager NA Pricing Operations in developing strategies and in monitoring competitive and industry pricing/structuring practices providing insights and recommendations.
  • Adjudicate NA TPS non-standard pricing deals beyond division/region discretion providing effective counselling and exploring alternatives with line officers and authorizing or declining deals within delegated discretion. Ensure retention of documentation to support Audit requirements.
  • Identify and escalate pricing issues that are contentious or that reflect disadvantaged competitive positioning for resolution and to ensure that all future decisions are made based on the most up to date information.
  • Revenue and pricing optimization
  • Lead/participate in projects as a subject matter expert as required.
    Client Relationship Management
  • Act as a subject matter expert for sales providing information and advice on pricing/structuring methodologies strategies and specific TPS pricing.
  • Support the pricing desk in developing and communicating pricing and structuring guidelines policies and best practices working in a cohesive manner with management and the sales force to ensure the highest level product for customers
  • Provide pricing insight as to competitive changes standard pricing trends and standard price change needs.

    Risk Management Control

  • As a subject matter expert resolve pricing and structure problems using creative ideas and using internal and external resources as required.
  • Ensure accurate and timely Deal Pricing Review
  • Govern pricing models to ensure they are aligned to current profitability standards retain approval documentation to support process audits.
  • Continually identifies opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to pricing policies and that proper approvals are received

    Knowledge Skills:
  • University or College degree with 2 or more years of experience in banking pricing Treasury Management Cards or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills including data reporting and modeling.
  • Competent using Microsoft Excel Access and Business Objects
  • Able to create relationships within and across teams and business partners
  • Works well independently able to find solution to problems without constant oversight confident in their abilities.
