Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior .NET or Ruby Developer to join a growing application development team responsible for supporting and enhancing critical enterprise applications. This role is ideal for a hands-on developer who is comfortable working within production environments, partnering closely with SRE and DevOps teams, building observability solutions, and participating in on-call support. The successful candidate will have strong application development experience in either .NET or Ruby on Rails, along with exposure to monitoring and performance management tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, or similar APM platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise applications using either .NET technologies (C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core) or Ruby on Rails
Build scalable, secure, and high-performing web applications, APIs, and backend services
Collaborate with product owners, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver technical solutions that align with business objectives
Develop and maintain observability dashboards, monitoring solutions, and performance metrics using Dynatrace or similar APM platforms
Analyze application performance trends and proactively identify opportunities for optimization and reliability improvements
Troubleshoot and resolve production incidents, application defects, and performance bottlenecks
Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for critical production systems
Perform code reviews and contribute to application design and technical decision-making
Build and optimize RESTful APIs and service-oriented architectures
Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to improve deployment processes, reliability, scalability, and operational excellence
Support CI/CD initiatives and contribute to automated testing and deployment strategies
Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, refinements, and retrospectives

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of software development experience with either Ruby on Rails or Microsoft .NET technologies (.NET Core, C#, ASP.NET)
Strong experience developing web applications, APIs, and backend services
Experience troubleshooting production issues and supporting enterprise applications in live environments
Exposure to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or application support responsibilities
Experience building, configuring, or maintaining dashboards and monitoring solutions within Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, New Relic, AppDynamics, or similar APM platforms
Experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MariaDB
Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and software design patterns
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs
Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure
Experience with Git and modern source control practices
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks
Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills
Experience working within Agile software development teams
Comfortable participating in an on-call support rotation

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with both .NET and Ruby on Rails environments
Experience supporting highly available, enterprise-scale applications
Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, and containerized application development
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
Experience with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures
Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js
Experience within financial services or other highly regulated environments
Previous experience working closely with SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering teams
