Job Description
Insight Global is seeking someone who will be designing and building enhancements to a low-latency cash equities trading platform, working heavily in Core Java and microservices. They’ll partner closely with product owners and trading stakeholders to gather requirements and prioritize features, while contributing to the full trade lifecycle from client FIX messages through to exchange execution. A large part of the role involves optimizing performance, improving system scalability, and maintaining high-throughput, event-driven architecture. They’ll also support CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot production issues in a Linux environment, and collaborate with global teams across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, with a focus on low-latency and/or real-time trading systems
• Strong proficiency in Core Java, including experience with multithreading, concurrency, performance tuning, and microservices architecture
• Hands-on experience with the FIX protocol, including order flow, client/exchange connectivity, and message handling
• Solid understanding of Cash Equities trading, including OMS/EMS platforms, trade lifecycle, and DMA/DSA workflows
• Strong experience working in Linux/UNIX environments, with the ability to troubleshoot and support production systems
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly with trading desks, product teams, and global stakeholders
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes
• Familiarity with real-time messaging systems, including Kafka or Aeron
• Experience with performance monitoring and optimization, leveraging profiling tools, metrics, and latency reduction techniques
• Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices, including tools like Jenkins, Groovy, and automated deployment pipelines
