Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Technology Platform Lead to drive end-to-end platform strategy, governance, and delivery across a modern AWS-based ecosystem. This role sits at the intersection of enterprise strategy and deep technical execution, with a strong emphasis on backend architecture, serverless design, and production stability within a regulated financial environment.
This individual will lead platform direction, guide architectural decisions, and partner closely with engineering teams to optimize, scale, and govern AWS-based solutions—particularly focusing on Lambda performance, microservices design, and event-driven systems.

Platform Strategy & Governance

Define and guide platform roadmap aligned to enterprise standards, risk, and compliance
Establish governance frameworks across architecture, delivery, and production operations
Partner with leadership to align platform investments with business outcomes

Backend Architecture Leadership

Lead design and evolution of serverless and event-driven architectures (AWS Lambda, API Gateway)
Drive decisions around microservices design, scalability, and resiliency
Evaluate and guide trade-offs between frameworks (e.g., Node.js vs NestJS) based on use case and complexity

Deep Technical Oversight (Hands-On)

Dive into code when needed to:

Optimize Lambda performance (cold starts, memory allocation, concurrency)
Improve system efficiency vs. “lift and shift” implementations

Review and guide backend implementation patterns, not just high-level design

Production & Reliability Focus

Lead resolution of production issues, root cause analysis, and system stabilization
Identify common failure points in serverless systems (timeouts, scaling limits, event failures)
Establish best practices for observability, logging, and monitoring

Architecture Problem Solving

Define problem statements that drive architectural decisions
Design and evolve micro-architectures in response to scaling, performance, and integration challenges
Address early-stage platform challenges, including initial AWS Lambda adoption and design pitfalls

Delivery Oversight

Guide teams through enterprise delivery frameworks (Jira, CI/CD, GitHub)
Ensure alignment across engineering teams, architecture, and business stakeholders

Stakeholder Management

Communicate effectively with technical and executive stakeholders
Translate complex backend architecture into business impact and risk considerations
