Job Description
Insight Global is looking for an AI Systems Engineer to join a large banking client on a 6-month contract working hybrid in downtown Toronto 2 days/week onsite.
The successful candidate will join a detection engineering function supporting fraud and cybersecurity initiatives. This individual will focus on building and optimizing AI-driven detection workflows, leveraging LLMs and agentic frameworks to automate and enhance detection capabilities. The role involves developing Python-based tooling, orchestrating AI agents, and translating detection research into scalable workflows.
Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and building agentic workflows, contributing to detection engineering prototypes, collaborating with cybersecurity operations teams (CSOC, SIAO, and SAS), and providing regular updates to leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5–7 years of experience in engineering (software development, infrastructure, or related) within medium to large organizations, preferably in regulated environments
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI, including building AI agents, agentic workflows, or orchestration frameworks
• Strong experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, LangChain, or similar frameworks for agent development
• Proficiency in Python scripting for automation, workflow development, and prompt engineering
• Experience building non-deterministic or AI-driven workflow automation solutions
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work independently, take initiative, and contribute innovative ideas
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Previous experience within banking or financial services environments
• Experience with AWS Bedrock or similar AI platforms
• Exposure to SIEM, Splunk, or detection engineering workflows
• Experience with SOAR platforms (e.g., Splunk SOAR)
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Ansible
