Job Description
Join a leading North American construction company as a Powerline Construction Manager / Superintendent, responsible for driving the successful execution of distribution-focused powerline projects across Western and Central Canada.
This role ensures the smooth functioning of day-to-day field operations by establishing and monitoring performance targets across multiple projects and teams. Recognized as a technical and operational leader, you will anticipate client needs, resolve complex construction challenges, and lead high-performing field teams.
You will also lead a team of superintendents, ensuring company standards for safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and client satisfaction are consistently achieved while contributing to long-term operational success.
Day to Day:
Lead and oversee distribution powerline construction projects (transmission experience considered an asset)
Ensure superintendents and crews are equipped with the resources, manpower, and tools required to execute projects safely and efficiently
Establish and maintain performance targets across multiple concurrent projects
Develop and integrate complex project schedules, aligning labour, materials, and equipment
Actively promote and lead safety culture, resolving escalated issues and participating at a senior level
Lead resource planning, including manpower forecasting and workforce deployment
Support estimating with execution strategies, labour planning, and resource analysis for pursuits
Oversee subcontractor/vendor selection, procurement, and negotiations
Build and mentor high-performing leadership teams, including superintendents and field staff

Required Skills & Experience
Powerline Technician (PLT) background required; Red Seal certification strongly preferred
10–15+ years of powerline construction experience, with significant time in leadership roles
Strong experience in distribution construction (primary focus)
Background on the contractor side preferred
Proven track record of leading field operations and delivering projects successfully
Deep understanding of construction practices, contracts, costs, and project controls
Ability to build and maintain long-term relationships across clients and the labour market
Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
Proven ability to build and retain high-performing teams
Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
Successful completion of pre-employment drug & alcohol requirements
Candidates can be based anywhere in Ontario
~50% travel required (fully covered)
Site-based role with potential rotational schedules depending on project needs
Between projects: mix of in-office and remote work
