Job Description
One of Insight Global’s clients is looking for a Paralegal to join their team in Cambridge, ON. This role will support the claims litigation function, focusing on managing legal appeals, handling subrogation matters, and assisting with legal research and documentation.
As a Claims Litigation Paralegal, this is a full-time reduced-hour position working a minimum of 25 hours per week. This position follows a hybrid schedule (Monday–Friday), with 2 days onsite (Tuesdays and Thursdays) at the Cambridge, Ontario office, along with occasional travel within Canada to support business needs.
Roles & Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage the legal appeals process and communicate decisions to lawyers
Participate in weekly Appeals Committee meetings
Prepare legal correspondence, including denial letters and Small Claims Court documents
Liaise with law firms, clients, internal departments, and external third parties
Appear in court on behalf of the organization
Manage subrogation workload, including recovery efforts
Conduct claims investigations and prepare/track file summaries
Research case law, legal principles, and academic literature; provide summarized insights to the legal team
Manage and maintain tracking systems for all lawsuits; monitor progress and provide regular updates
Coordinate communications with collection agencies regarding outstanding invoices
Prepare file copies and written correspondence for Operations and Legal teams
Provide general administrative support and assist with ad hoc projects as needed
Work effectively in a technology-driven environment, including AI, data analytics, and cloud-based tools, while adhering to data governance, security, and ethical standards

Required Skills & Experience
- College diploma or degree in a Paralegal or Legal program
- 3+ years of experience in a legal role (including internships or academic placements)
- Experience with subrogation cases and recovery processes
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently within defined guidelines
- High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and discretion
- Strong customer service mindset with a responsive and professional approach
- Comfort with technology, including Excel and legal tracking systems
- Ability to adapt in a fast-paced, evolving work environment

Fluency in French
