Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Media Planner Lead to join a top retail client in Toronto for a 6-month contract. As the Media Planning Lead for the retail media business, you will be responsible to develop media strategies that support their internal media advertising program.
You’re a big picture thinker with a passion for building integrated marketing campaigns and have a track record of delivering media plans that drive meaningful results. This role requires an effective collaborator who can align teams across media, account management, analytics, production, ad operations, finance, and our external vendor partners. The right candidate needs to have a bias towards building instead of maintaining and must operate with ambiguity well.
Key Responsibilities:
Media Planning
· Lead development of holistic retail media plans across onsite (client website) & offsite (Google, Facebook, Pinterest, etc.)
· Translate brand objectives into measurable retail media strategies
· Coordinate with in-house media leads & ad operations to develop the most effective marketing mix while also delivering on the vendor’s activation requirements and objectives
· Review media trends, historical performance and media mix modelling to identify and develop an impactful media strategy and to set KPIs and expectations
· Drive innovation in media planning through the use of emerging formats, platform enhancements, audiences, and tools.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
· Partner with the sales and account specialists on the marketing approach to support vendor (supplier) needs.
· Partner with the analytics team to monitor campaign performance mid-flight and provide insights into quarterly/annual business reviews
· Collaborate with your corporate planning counterpart to identify and understand how vendor and corporate campaigns intersect (timing, level of investment, tactics, etc.) to maximize benefit for the vendors and the the company
Project & Change Management
· Monitor costs and work with cross-functional partners (internal media and production teams, external creative agency) to deliver campaigns on time and on budget
· Assist and consult on the development and rollout of media and campaign planning tools
Budget & Financial Management
· Guide and track budget allocation across tactics, platforms, and vendors
· In partnership with the finance team, track vendor contracts and reconcile media platform purchase orders

Required Skills & Experience
- 3-5+ years of experience in a direct media or planning role, ideally with a mix of agency and client-side experience managing-multi-million-dollar programs
- Expert understanding of media tactics, channels, and KPIs
- Familiarity with media and analytics platforms (Google Marketing Platform, Facebook, Pinterest, TikTok, GA, Tableau, Looker, Adobe)
- Strong analytical, influential, and interpersonal skills
- A proven team-player, collaborator, and communicator with a bias towards action and results
- Naturally curious, with an inclination to problem solve and uncover meaning
Skills:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- Organizational skills.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business, marketing, advertising, or communications.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Retail media and eCommerce advertising experience are assets.
- Salesforce proficiency is an asset.
