Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Azure Platform Engineer to join a dynamic team. This role is critical in designing, implementing, and maintaining product infrastructure in Microsoft Azure. The successful candidate will build out product infrastructure for new product lines, lead DevOps initiatives, develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Bicep, and contribute to backend services through C# Azure Functions. You will collaborate closely with the clients development teams to ensure scalable, secure, and automated deployments across environments, while aligning with compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2. The role includes defining and building Azure infrastructure for scalable, internet-facing web applications, following best practices for security, performance, reliability, and scalability. This role focuses on product infrastructure, not corporate IT infrastructure. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant influence over platform and architectural decisions.

Key Responsibilities
• DevOps & CI/CD: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions for automated builds, tests, and deployments.
• Infrastructure as Code: Develop and manage IaC templates using Bicep and ARM for provisioning and configuring Azure resources.
• Cloud Architecture: Architect and optimize Azure-based infrastructure for high availability, scalability, and security.
• Azure Function Development: Build and maintain serverless solutions using C# Azure Functions to support product features.
• Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, encryption, and monitoring, ensuring compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2, and other relevant standards.
• Security & Compliance Automation: Automate security and compliance checks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Monitoring & Observability: Configure monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
• Containerization & Orchestration: Implement container-based solutions (Docker, Azure Container Apps/Kubernetes).
• Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers to integrate infrastructure and deployment strategies into the development lifecycle.
• Edge & Global Routing: Design and manage global traffic routing and application acceleration using Azure Front Door.
• Web APIs: Design, build, and secure Web APIs using Azure Functions, Azure App Services, and/or Azure API Management.
• External Identity: Implement and manage customer and external identity solutions using Microsoft Entra External ID.
Documentation as Code: Maintain architecture diagrams and infrastructure documentation using Markdown and Mermaid
