Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a highly experienced Lead ServiceNow Developer to join one of our largest banking clients on a 12-month contract. The successful candidate will be required to come into the office in downtown Toronto 3x a week and will own, expand, and mature the ServiceNow platform, which has become a critical system of record across the organization. This role requires a senior-level technical leader who can bridge deep technical expertise with business needs, lead and mentor junior team members, and ensure the platform is scalable, auditable, well-documented, and highly integrated—particularly across cloud environments.
This individual will play a key role in evolving ServiceNow from a traditional workflow tool into a robust, enterprise-grade platform supporting reporting, audit, integrations, automation, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Ownership & Development:
- Serve as the technical lead and SME for the ServiceNow platform.
- Design, build, and enhance the platform from both a technical and operational perspective.
- Lead platform expansion to support increased usage, reporting, audit requirements, and integrations.
- Ensure ServiceNow is treated with the appropriate due diligence, governance, and controls as a core system of record.
- Drive automation and streamlining initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency.
Integrations & Architecture:
- Lead and troubleshoot cloud-based integrations, ensuring reliable data flow between ServiceNow and external systems.
- Diagnose and resolve integration failures where data is missing, delayed, or incorrect.
- Work across cloud-first architectures, with some exposure to on-prem environments.
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow integration tools and patterns.
CMDB, SAM & Service Mapping:
- Own and evolve CMDB and Service Asset Management (SAM) capabilities.
- Lead advanced Service Mapping implementations, including: top-down, tag-based, dynamic, and manual mapping
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of configuration and service data.
Reporting, Audit & Documentation:
- Enable and enhance reporting capabilities to support audit and compliance needs.
- Maintain rigorous technical and operational documentation.
- Document all existing configurations, integrations, and workflows in detail.
- Ensure documentation supports long-term sustainability and knowledge transfer.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management:
- Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure adherence to SLAs.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and clarity in all interactions.
Mentorship & Enablement:
- Lead and mentor a small team of 2 junior resources.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of overall experience, with significant hands-on ServiceNow development experience.
- Deep understanding of how ServiceNow capabilities translate into business value.
- Strong experience with: ServiceNow integrations (primarily cloud-based), CMDB and SAM, and troubleshooting broken integrations and data issues
- Proven experience with Service Mapping (multiple methodologies preferred).
- Excellent technical documentation skills.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to operate comfortably in both highly technical and business-focused discussions.
- Outstanding communication skills (written and verbal).
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and resourceful.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience building or scaling ServiceNow platforms in highly integrated enterprise environments.
- Background as a ServiceNow consultant who transitioned into a hands-on leadership role.
- Experience supporting audit-heavy or regulated environments.
- Demonstrated success in modernizing ServiceNow from a workflow tool into a strategic platform.
