Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Technical Architect to lead the technical delivery of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) upgrade within a regulated pharmaceutical environment. This individual will act as the primary technical authority responsible for architecture design, infrastructure alignment, system integrations, and data migration planning for the upgrade initiative.

The architect will work closely with laboratory operations, quality teams, and enterprise IT to assess the current system landscape and guide the technical implementation of the upgraded platform. This role will oversee system architecture across application, database, and infrastructure layers while ensuring solutions remain scalable, secure, and compliant with regulatory standards.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on system architecture, upgrade planning, integrations, and coordination across infrastructure, security, database, and integration teams.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of experience working in enterprise IT environments supporting complex applications or system architectures
• Strong experience in technical architecture or solution architecture roles, including system design and technical implementation oversight
• Experience working with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or laboratory systems environments
• Experience supporting major LIMS or enterprise application upgrades, migrations, or implementations
• Experience working within regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device organizations
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server or Oracle databases, including query development, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
• Experience working with Windows Server environments and enterprise infrastructure platforms
• Experience designing and supporting system integrations across enterprise platforms and applications
• Understanding of networking, security, authentication, and infrastructure best practices
• Experience supporting data migration planning, including mapping, cleansing, validation, and cutover planning
• Ability to translate laboratory and business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Strong stakeholder communication skills and experience working across technical and business teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with LabWare LIMS, particularly supporting major version upgrades
• Experience integrating LIMS with enterprise platforms such as SAP, TrackWise, ERP systems, or data platforms
• Experience integrating laboratory instruments and equipment using APIs or web services
• Experience working with Citrix or virtualized application environments
• Familiarity with GxP, CSV, or CSA validation frameworks
• Experience supporting data integrity initiatives in regulated systems
• Experience working with laboratory, quality, or manufacturing systems in life sciences organizations
