Job Description
The Senior Consulting Manager (Director Track) is a senior client-facing delivery leader who owns major engagements, manages key client relationships, and leads multi-workstream execution. This role is intended for a top-performing manager who can operate at a Director level quickly and consistently. This person will be expected to lead client delivery with minimal oversight, coach and develop teams, shape scopes of work, and act as a trusted right-hand to Partners on complex client situations. Within six months, the expectation is the individual can assume a Director-level mandate based on performance and demonstrated leadership.
Engagement Leadership & Client Ownership
· Lead large-scale engagements and multi-workstream client initiatives from kickoff through delivery and completion
· Own senior stakeholder relationships including owners, CEOs, CFOs, and operational leadership
· Establish engagement structure: workplan, cadence, deliverables, roles, escalation paths, and reporting expectations
· Drive clarity in ambiguous environments and act as the execution leader accountable for outcomes
· Manage engagement economics including recovery discipline, scope control, and timely invoicing support
Operational Efficiency, Execution, and Performance Improvement
· Diagnose root causes across operations, workflows, and performance management systems
· Lead operational efficiency initiatives tied to measurable outcomes (cost reduction, productivity, throughput, working capital, delivery performance)
· Support commercial performance initiatives including pricing, margin improvement, revenue leakage, sales execution enablement, and go-to-market process improvements
· Build and implement practical operating systems including KPI dashboards, management cadence, decision logs, and accountability rhythms
· Operate as a “change agent” inside the client environment — comfortable driving hard decisions
Team Leadership & Coaching (High Standard)
· Lead and manage Associate and Manager-level resources across multiple engagements
· Set expectations and quality standards; ensure outputs are client-ready and delivered on time
· Conduct structured work delegation, review processes, feedback loops, and coaching
· Develop talent by building internal capability and reinforcing best practices in execution and communication
Methodology and Process
· Contribute to the creation of GSA tools, templates, and scalable delivery approaches
Build internal repeatability through methods, artifacts, and consistent engagement structure

Required Skills & Experience
· 7–10 years of experience in consulting, advisory, or operational leadership roles
· Demonstrated success delivering work in mid-market and owner-managed business environments
· Proven ability to lead engagements independently and manage senior client stakeholders
· Strong communication and executive presence, including the ability to simplify complex situations and drive decisions
· Experience leading teams and directly coaching junior-to-mid level resources
· Strong operational improvement capability: process redesign, cost efficiency, performance improvement, role clarity, accountability systems
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
· Experience across a range of enterprise and operational technologies including ERP systems, CRM platforms, workflow management tools, and reporting/analytics platforms
· Experience supporting system implementation and operational enablement initiatives
· Exposure to industries such as construction, mechanical services, industrial services, agriculture, manufacturing, logistics, or distribution
· Experience working in high-urgency environments such as turnarounds, transitions, distressed operations, or “no time to waste” client situations
