Senior Lead Engineer

Insight Global is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the technology team with one of our large financial services clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
• Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable applications using Java (Spring Boot, Java 17/21) and AWS services (EKS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and architect effective solutions for Post Trade services.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code with a focus on performance and maintainability.
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.
• Debug and fix build issues, ensuring smooth deployment and integration using Terraform and DevOps practices.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and best practices in software development and cloud technologies.
• Take initiative and work independently while contributing to a team of 5 developers.
• Provide hands-on development and occasional mentorship as needed.

• Strong hands-on experience with Java (Spring Boot) and AWS services (EKS, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway).
• Proficiency in Terraform with the ability to debug and fix build issues.
• Working knowledge of Python (basic level acceptable, but must have prior hands-on experience).
• Proven expertise in software design and system analysis.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to take initiative and work independently in a fast-paced environment

• Experience or understanding of capital markets or the financial services industry.
• Familiarity with Post Trade systems and workflows.
