Job Description: Pega Smart Dispute Developer
Location: Downtown Toronto
Department: Technology – Financial Services
Reports to: Pega Development Lead / IT Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pega Smart Dispute Developer to join our dynamic team within the financial services sector. The ideal candidate will possess 2-3 years of hands-on experience in Pega development, particularly with Smart Dispute frameworks, and demonstrate a strong understanding of financial services operations. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust dispute management solutions that drive operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development:
Develop and enhance Pega Smart Dispute applications to support business requirements in the financial services domain.
Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Implement workflows, case management, and integration components within the Pega platform.
Technical Leadership:
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
Solution Delivery:
Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including analysis, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Pega Smart Dispute applications.
Quality & Compliance:
Ensure solutions meet regulatory and compliance standards within the financial services sector.
Develop and maintain documentation for system architecture, configuration, and processes.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and solutions.
Stay current with Pega platform updates and industry trends in dispute management.
Qualifications & Experience
Requirement Details
Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Experience 2-3 years of Pega development experience, with focus on Smart Dispute frameworks
Sector Knowledge Demonstrated experience in financial services (banking, payments, or related areas)
Certifications Pega CSA or CSSA certification preferred
Technical Skills Pega PRPC, Smart Dispute, Java, SQL, Web Services, REST/SOAP, Agile methodologies
Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills
Problem-Solving Analytical mindset with proactive approach to troubleshooting and innovation
Teamwork Effective collaborator within cross-functional teams
Preferred Skills
Experience with integration of Pega applications with core banking systems.
Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements in financial dispute management.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for Pega solutions.
