Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a BIM coordinator for a major railway expansion project across the GTA. The sucessful candidate will be going on site 5 days a week in downtwon Toronto. The successful candidate will be responsible for the below:
•Coordinate Consultant and supply chain Information Models and Delivery Plans to support the development of federated models and against agreed deliverables to ensure supply chain IDD deliverables.
•Support the IDD Director/ IDD Manager or project BIM lead to ensure the correct activities are assigned to the consultant supply chains Information Managers.
•Provide Coordination reports of the interfaces between engineering disciplines / design and construction / temporary and permanent works design activities, through the IDD process.
•Coordinate with Project Managers and Construction Managers to develop a project specific process for utilizing or creating 3D information for estimating, logistics, planning, scheduling, coordination, field layout and/or facilitates management.
•Review, coordinate and manage the creation of Project Information Models.
•Project deployment duties include installing software, organizing, maintaining and setting up CAD exchange environments, basic training & support for project team, coordination assistance, file conversions and documenting process and solutions for reuse.
•Champion 3D coordination and act as liaison with project team, consultants and subcontractors to facilitate process and maintain Master Project BIM database.
•Collaborate with the Scheduling department to build and maintain 4D scheduling model. – nice to have
•Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that will enhance or improve processes.

Required Skills & Experience
•Educational and Industry experience requirements include Engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training plus experience/knowledge of Civil Construction practice.
•Proficiency with model federation platforms such as Assemble Systems, Navisworks and Bentley Navigator.
•Proficiency in BIM authoring tools such as REVIT, AutoCAD Civil 3D.
•Knowledge of Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and Aconex. – ACC – Autodesk construction cloud
•Detailed understanding of corporate and industry practices, processes, standards etc. and their impact on project activities is vital.
•Working knowledge of EHS regulations.
•Experience across all stages of a project lifecycle would be desirable.
•Experience of working within construction project environments would be desirable.
•At least 3-5 years of experience
•Good problem-solving skills
-Experience with QTO (Quantity take off)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
•Proficiency in 4D platforms such as Navisworks simulate and Synchro.
•Proficiency in 5D QTO and Cost assignment tolls would be desirable
