Job Description

We’re seeking a seasoned GCP Cloud Operations Specialist with advanced expertise in Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Kubernetes to join our dynamic infrastructure team in a leading financial institution. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in maintaining, optimizing, and scaling our cloud-native environments that support core banking services, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance in a regulated industry.

🔧 Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage cloud-native infrastructure on Google Cloud Platform with a focus on security, scalability, and reliability

Lead operations and support for container orchestration using Kubernetes and GKE

Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal governance policies

Collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to deploy and monitor mission-critical workloads

Automate infrastructure provisioning and management using tools like Terraform, Helm, and CI/CD pipelines

Monitor system performance, conduct root cause analysis, and provide proactive solutions to mitigate risks

Create and maintain documentation, runbooks, and technical standards

🧠 Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)

5+ years of experience in cloud operations, with 3+ years in GCP environments

Deep expertise with GKE and Kubernetes architecture, scaling, networking, and security best practices

Proficient in infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD tooling

Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM policies, logging, and monitoring tools (Stackdriver, Prometheus, Grafana)

Knowledge of banking infrastructure and industry standards for data protection and compliance (e.g. FFIEC, PCI-DSS, SOC 2)

🌟 Preferred Qualifications
Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer or Kubernetes Administrator certification

Experience working in high-security environments with strict access controls

Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments and migration strategies from on-prem to GCP
