Scope of the project:
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is set to refurbish up to five hydroelectric stations in Niagara Falls, including the Sir Adam Beck I and II stations. This major project aims to secure about 1,700 megawatts (MW) of clean, reliable power for Ontario's future, meeting approximately 9% of the province's energy needs.
Over the next 15 years, General Electric Vernova (GE) will partner with OPG to refurbish up to 25 units, increasing capacity by up to 50 MW. The refurbishment will involve replacing key components with more efficient designs, ensuring these stations continue to support Ontario's electrification and net-zero goals.
The Project Manager of Construction & Commissioning (PMCC) will be responsible for controlling and supporting the field operations activities with respect to scope, schedule, and budget with the support of the project stakeholders.
