Transportation Project Designer

Insight Global is looking for a Transportation Project Designer to join a leading Civil Engineering client in Peterborough Ontario. This is a hybrid role and requires 3 days per week on site Peterborough.

Reporting to the Department Manager you will provide design services for the completion of engineering design assignments for private and public sector clients. You may also be in the field for various types of pre-engineering investigations and/or inspections, or surveying.

This job is well suited for a Civil Engineering Technology graduate with a passion for engineering and a desire to learn.

Key Responsibilities:
Creating contract drawings using AutoCAD, InRoads and Civil 3D design software for highway and road related projects
Drafting technical reports.
Completing field reviews.
Preparing cost estimates and quantity calculations.
Preparing tender documents.

5+ years experience in highway design
Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D, InRoads, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD)
MTO (Ministry of Transportation) design and project delivery experience
Excellent work ethic and ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously.
General knowledge of various design standards and requirements, such as OPSS and OPSD.

Civil Engineering Technician/Technology Diploma.
