Job Description:

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic VP, Finance to join our executive leadership team. The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of financial stewardship, operational excellence, and strategic insight to help drive contributed growth and innovation.

In doing so you will support the team's business operations, objectives and strategies including but not limited to, insurance industry, strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. Lead teams and execute high-level technical queries, underwriting information and support the delivery of solutions across multiple technologies & evaluate the impacts on other areas of the business.

Key responsibilities
• Insurer Reporting & Settlements: Lead the Bordereaux team to ensure accurate and timely reporting to markets and brokers, manage EFT approvals, reconciliations, and settlement releases.
• Finance Operations: Oversee treasury, month-end close, tax remittances, audit coordination, and regulatory compliance (RIBO, premium tax). Manage financial reporting, trust transfers, and debt obligations.
• HR & Payroll: Approve payroll, oversee benefits and recruitment, manage annual filings (T4s, RL-1s), and support compensation and performance review processes.
• Audits: Coordinate underwriting audits (Lloyd’s and domestic), ensuring compliance and follow-up.
• Management Reporting: Prepare executive-level reports, financial forecasts, cash flow projections, and monthly management reporting packs.
• M&A: Lead financial analysis and reconciliation for acquisitions and dispositions, and support due diligence with data analytics.
• Operations: Bridge Underwriting and IT for system improvements, manage project deliverables, budgets, and licensing requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- 8+ years of experience working with both regulatory external and internal compliance
- 8+ years with expertise in financial operations Master of P&L, balance sheets and financial reporting to the Board of directors.
- 5+ years of experience managing complex insurer settlements, bordereaux reporting, and premium reconciliation across domestic and international markets.
- Background in the insurance industry managing complex insurer settlements, bordereaux reporting, and premium reconciliation across domestic and international markets.
- Extensive experience with board-level reporting, full-year forecasts, and executive commentary for stakeholders including the CEO and Board of Directors.
8+ Years of experience liaise between underwriting, IT, and operations to support enterprise-wide initiatives and platform enhancements.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- STRONG - IT ecosystem and can help guide/plan the IT projects.
CPA, CMA, ACMA, LLB, ACS or any related certifications are an asset.
