Insight Global is looking for a Bridge Engineer to join a leading Civil Engineering client in Peterborough Ontario. This is a hybrid role with remote flexibility.
Reporting to the Structural (Bridge) Department Manager, you will be responsible for
projects from inception to completion and provide engineering services supporting
various projects. including preliminary project planning, design, and approval of
assigned projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Involvement in preliminary and detail design.
Identify and solve complex engineering design issues in order to satisfy clients
needs while adhering to applicable policies, practices, and procedures.
Complete preliminary and detailed design calculations in order to support
engineering recommendations.
Prepare project estimates, budget, schedules, and execution plans.
Undertake technical and feasibility studies including site investigations.
Prepare technical reports.
Liaise with internal and external clients, including staff, clients, agencies, and sub consultants.
Preparation of technical specifications and contract documents.
Manage budgets and project resources, monitoring progress against budget
and forecasted schedule.
Ensure accurate and timely reporting standards are maintained throughout
each project.
Review the work of junior design staff and complete quality control review for
internal technical submissions.
Stamp and sign engineering drawings and reports under their responsibility
(where applicable).

- Degree in civil engineering (focus on structural engineering)
- P.Eng. (complete or in progress)
- 3 + years of experience in structural engineering or municipal/provincial infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience preparing detailed structural designs for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls.
- Knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA S6) and the MTO Structural Rehabilitation Manual
- Demonstrated work experience working on highway, railway, or pedestrian bridge projects
- Demonstrated experience reviewing drawings for compliance with codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Experience using CAD software
Experience performing structural calculations and analysis using structural analysis software (SAP2000, MISAS Civil)
