Job Description

Reporting into the Director, Capital Markets and Treasury BIA (Business Initiatives and Analytics), the Analyst assists the Director and is a point of contact to the business and infrastructure partners on strategic projects, initiatives and ad hoc requests. Provides both analytical and initiative support and delivery to Capital Markets, Treasury and other strategic business partners.
The incumbent is responsible for detailed investigative analysis in support of Capital Markets and Treasury business initiatives, projects and on post-mortems of key transactions.

Required Skills & Experience

- Degree in Economics, Finance, Commerce or Accounting
- 5-7 years business (banking, finance, cap markets or treasury) related experience.
- Accounting experience - treatment of on and off-balance sheet products (accrual vs. mark-to-market) to calculate any manual accounting adjustments, and have a basic knowledge of Financial Instruments Accounting Standards with related knowledge of hedge effectiveness testing and processes. In addition, you have an
- understanding of Capital Markets products - pricing and settlement practices of Bonds, Swap, Options, Futures, and Foreign Exchange and the ability to develop queries using SQL and write VBA code to troubleshoot.
- Trading and reporting systems within Treasury and Capital Markets, along with in-depth knowledge of the portfolio structure in the business systems and General Ledger.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Ideally have completed the Canadian Securities Course and/or any other relevant courses from the Canadian Securities Institute suite of Programs.
- Valuation experience - understanding various valuation methods, applying financial models, and analyzing business fundamentals to determine a fair price
- CFA is an asset, or pursuing CFA
