Insight Global is looking for a Power BI Developer to join our global banking client in their Delivery Enablement team. We are looking for a skilled reporting developer to design, implement, and maintain metrics and dashboards that provide insights into team performance and the adoption of engineering practices and tools. The developer will source data from various sources, including SQL databases and REST APIs, process the data with reliable algorithms, and build user-friendly dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and Excel with Power Query. This role will be 3x a week in Downtown Toronto and will start off as a 12 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain data analytics and reporting solutions.
- Communicate with product managers, team coaches, and stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback.
- Work with SMEs to understand data requirements and translate them into data models.
- Assemble large, complex data sets, identify logical connections, and automate data validation and ETL processes.
- Contribute to the evolution of team metrics and insights.

- 5+ years of work experience analyzing data and developing/maintaining complex rule-based dashboards in Power BI.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, and ideally the ability to develop database-driven automated spreadsheets and use of VBA/Macros.
- Strong background and ability to define and understand complex data requirements to translate them into data models.
- Strong software engineering background with experience in relational databases, data quality, analytics, ETL, and reporting.
- Hands-on coding proficiency in SQL and Microsoft M language.
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills and strong problem-solving abilities to identify risks and resolve issues quickly.
- Experience working in a banking/financial services domain.
- Experience in data warehouses and data governance.
