Insight Global is looking for a UI (User Interface) Designer to join a top university in Toronto, Ontario for a 3-month contract to finalize a user-centered design for a service request portal application and handing it over to an internal full-stack development team. They will be a part of the Facilities & Services (F&S) department, which has been focused on creating exceptional customer solutions including redesigning and rebuilding the current online F&S service request portal around users' needs and leveraging user-centered design principles. The F&S portal redesign project began in September 2022 and has included an environmental scan, primary research of a user survey, user interviews, user stories, and usability testing of the current system. Low fidelity wireframes of a new design were further tested using tree testing and card sorting. The portal has over 2000+ users from 300+ departments and faculties across the university, and is maintained in-house by the F&S team. The UI Designer will be responsible for the final product to be delivered no later than April 12, 2024. They will be provided with all material to ensure they are well aware of where the project is at and expectations required. The UI Designer will be responsible for developing and presenting a summary of design recommendations to complete the medium-fidelity wireframes and creation of high-fidelity wireframes, finalize medium-fidelity wireframes in Figma, and develop high fidelity wireframes for development. This person will also be responsible for knowledge transfer to the inhouse developer team once the project is complete for post-handover support.
