Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Automation Test Analyst to join a large utilities client on a hybrid basis in the GTA. The focus for this role is to help design a scalable automation framework to support testing and quality engineering activities of the organization's Business Solutions divisions. The responsibilities include performing PoC on a range of tools to enable QA maturity, such as automation in test design, execution, and reporting, as well as webservices testing, stubbing, and simulation. As the lead of automation testers, the key accountabilities include building and maintaining automation scripts, developing automation strategies for the PODs, and partnering closely with different PODs and LOBs to identify automation candidates. Additionally, the role involves collaborating with cross-functional technical teams to extend automation capabilities, assisting in organizational change management to adopt an "automation-first" approach, working toward value-driven cost-saving KPIs, and periodically reviewing and upgrading the automation framework to ensure optimal results. The Automation Test Analyst will also create and evolve an automation roadmap to support organizational priorities and work with the technical team to establish a continuous testing pipeline. This hybrid role requires on-site two days per week between Downtown and/or Markham.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong Automation Engineer/Analyst with 5-10 years of experience

Experience on at least one automation project focused on SAP ERP*

Demonstrated ability to define/build automation frameworks from scratch, and contribute to architectural decisions

Excellent communication skills between technical and non-technical groups, manage stakeholders/meetings, while willing and able to do hands-on work if needed

Experience with ANY model-based testing tool -- Tosca, Confirmiq, Worksoft, Cucumber framework (ideally Tosca)

Scripting experience in Java and Object-oriented languages (Java ideally; Other: Unix, VBA, VBScript, Python)

Hands-on scripting experience with UFT or Selenium

Understanding of DevOps tools and basic commands (CI/CD, Gitlab, Jenkins to support shift-left methodologies)

Proficiency in API REST/SOAP testing and experience using related tools like SoapUI, Postman

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Expert level proficiency and understanding of Tosca (SAP testing tool)

CTFL, ISTQB, CSQA, CSTE certifications

Tosca/Tricentis certified
