Job Description

As an Engineer Sr., you will conduct technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, design and construction of new and existing facilities, and research on new developments, applying your strong understanding of industry and operational requirements. Taking initiative and anticipating customer needs will make you a stand-out player. Confidence in presentation-making and the ability to work independently and as a team leader are also vital in this role!
As a subject matter expert in Power Engineering, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership in engineering designs and maintenance as well as reliability best practices for electrical equipment across the company. You will provide internal power engineering support for Project Execution and Technical Services. You will interpret industry best practices, standards, and regulatory codes, and provide assessments, strategies, and recommendations for all adoptions.

Required Skills & Experience

- 15+ years of electrical/power engineering experience in natural gas, midstream, or petrochemical
- Deep expertise in:
○ Electrical area classification
○ Grounding design
○ Protection/coordination + relays
- Experience supporting the full lifecycle of electrical systems (design → construction → operations → maintenance)
- Experience acting as a centralized or enterprise-level SME
- Advanced power system study experience:
○ Short-circuit, arc flash, coordination, load flow
- Strong knowledge of industry codes/standards (API, IEEE, NEC, NFPA)
- Experience with tools like ETAP, SKM, SEL / GE relay software
- Proven ability to lead technical direction and mentor other engineers
Strong communication — able to translate complex technical concepts to varying audiences

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience developing or influencing internal/industry engineering standards
- Prior experience in a centralized engineering or SME group
- Experience supporting multiple assets or enterprise-wide initiatives
