Job Description

A client of Insight Global is seeking a Reliability Engineer II to support the development, testing, and validation of subcomponents used in HVAC systems. This engineer will execute reliability and durability testing, analyze component‑level failures, and partner closely with design engineering, suppliers, and warranty teams to strengthen product performance. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on reliability engineer with experience testing motors, fans, bearings, electrical components, or other electromechanical subassemblies, who can identify failure modes, drive corrective actions, and improve long‑term product reliability.

Required Skills & Experience

* ABET‑accredited engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Materials, or related)

* 2–4 years of experience in HVAC, automotive, or aerospace manufacturing industries preferred

* Hands‑on experience performing component‑level reliability testing, including:

- Life testing

- Durability testing

- Environmental stress testing

- Accelerated aging

* Strong understanding of component failure modes, including:

- Motor failures

- Fan/blade fatigue

- Bearing wear

- Electrical component failures

* Experience supporting new product development through reliability input, test planning, and design recommendations

* Proven ability to evaluate vendor components, warranty returns, and field failures to identify root causes

* Experience facilitating structured problem‑solving activities such as:

- A3

- 8D

- RCA

- FMEA

* Demonstrated success improving component performance, reducing warranty issues, or enhancing reliability standards

* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret test data and translate findings into actionable insights
