Job Description

The Inspector will perform construction quality assurance services for the Modernization at Tinker AFB. Since the Construction Contractor is responsible for the quality of the construction project, quality assurance services are those actions taken to assure that the Construction Contractor is fulfilling the obligations of the contract and working in compliance with accepted Quality Control and Health and Safety Plans. While inspection of the work in progress is inherent in this position, it is not the total extent of the responsibility.
QA Inspector shall review construction submittals, including design plans, to validate contract compliance.
The inspector will also monitor construction progress, recommend progress payments, attend construction management and review meetings, and prepare construction progress reports.
The inspector will maintain a log of all site inspections (to include each sequence of the 3-Phase QC meetings and inspections) and include this information in the weekly reports to the CO and COR.
The inspector will keep and maintain accurate and detailed written records of project progress during all stages of construction.
Maintain a detailed daily diary of all events, to include delivery of material and equipment that occurs at the job-site or elsewhere that affects or may be expected to affect the construction progress.
Utilize a bound log book, AF Form 1477, for these records. The accuracy of these daily records is essential, as they may be needed in the future to justify or clarify construction issues. All information required by AF Form 1477 shall be annotated, to include weather conditions. Each day's entry shall be signed by the Inspector and submitted to the CO and COR as specified in the task order.
