Job Description

The Director is responsible and accountable for the overall administration of children's services, including the Child Development Program. The Director will establish strategic initiatives and oversee adjustments to services in the areas of advocacy, independence, curriculum, structure, and staffing. Oversight includes the development and implementation of policies and procedures within the Child Development Program that will ensure a high-quality accredited program that surpasses the needs of the children we serve.



Supervision and Development of Staff



- Recruit, orient, train, supervise, and evaluate appropriate staff. Arrange for volunteer, student assistance and supervision.



- Arrange for orientation and ongoing in-service training of both assistant Directors, staff, students, and volunteers, including monthly all-staff meetings.



Community Outreach

- Plan and implement marketing strategies that build the program's consensus and community support.

- Build a presence in the community on behalf of WovenLife children's services by attending relevant open houses, trainings, forums, and other related opportunities.

- In coordination with the Administrative Team, provide direction on the production and distribution of marketing materials.



Program Management and Development

- Develop and implement program policies, goals, and objectives.

- Develop, implement, and manage the daily operations of the Child Development Program, including all staffing needs and assist where needed.

- Ensure compliance with applicable state and federal regulations for Childcare licensure, DHS, NAEYC, CACFP, Sunbeam/Early Head Start, Medicaid, ADA and others affecting facility and programs.

- Oversee and maintain the accreditation process and standards.

- In collaboration with program staff promote school readiness, individualization, and inclusion for children with disabilities by providing technical assistance, coaching, and mentoring, and ongoing training.

- Work with teaching staff to develop, implement and document the transition of children from the program to preschool or Kindergarten.

- Provide a safe and clean environment for staff and children by overseeing supply orders and reporting facility maintenance



Financial Management

- Develop and manage the budget and program goals.

- Ensure program meets allocations for budget projections.

- Oversee administration of contracts and grants applicable to children's services.

- Access and maintain current information on local, state, and federal fiscal issues relating to effective service provisions.

- Develop action plans to ensure continued funding as well as seek reimbursement from all eligible payer sources for client service, for example, Childcare Block Grants, USDA, Health and Human Services, Part H (now Part C); Part B, third party insurance, etc.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field

- Obtains a Director Credentials CECPD (Center for Early Childhood Professional Development)

- 5+ years of experience in a supervisory role or Director Level experience

- Knowledge of regulations IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act).

· Certification in CPR, First Aid, or ability to receive certification during first six months of employment.
