Mechanical Quality Inspector

Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical Quality Inspector for a leading precision manufacturing and engineering client in Fairfield, OH. This individual will serve as a critical quality checkpoint throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring machined, fabricated, and assembled components meet engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience performing dimensional inspections, reading mechanical drawings, and utilizing precision measurement equipment in a manufacturing environment. Experience with quality systems, FAI documentation, and advanced inspection technologies such as FARO or CMM equipment is highly preferred.

Day-to-Day:
• Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of mechanical components and assemblies
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using precision measurement equipment
• Review mechanical drawings, specifications, and quality documentation
• Conduct and support First Article Inspections (FAIs)
• Document inspection results and identify nonconformances
• Support quality compliance, traceability, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure calibration and proper use of inspection equipment

• 2+ years of mechanical quality inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience working within AS9100 and/or ISO-certified environments
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, P&IDs, and CAD drawings
• Experience performing dimensional inspections and verifying machining tolerances
• Proficiency using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, indicators, etc.)
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills

• FARO Arm, CMM, or PolyWorks experience
• First Article Inspection (FAI) experience
• NDT experience (PT, UT, FPI, etc.)
• Gas turbine, power generation, or rotating equipment experience
• Experience supporting MRB and nonconformance processes
