Jr Agentic Builder

You will use AI coding agents as your primary means of producing software. We are not looking for someone with a thesis on where AI is going. We are looking for someone who is already good at getting agents to produce work that holds up, and who wants to get considerably better at it by working alongside people further down that road.
The senior team owns the framework and you build with it: their project context, their conventions, their tests and gates, their path to production. Working inside a system like that is a genuine skill. It means understanding the reasoning behind a rule before you decide it is in your way, knowing which decisions are yours and which belong to someone else, and speaking up when part of the framework is slowing you down. That feedback is one of the more valuable things you will give us, and the seniors want to hear it.
You will also be close to the business. Requirements here usually arrive as a conversation rather than a ticket, and turning that conversation into something an agent can build is a large part of the job.
A typical week may include:
• Sitting with someone in operations or a business function to understand a problem, then turning it into a spec, acceptance criteria, and constraints an agent can work from.
• Running agents against that work, reading their output, rejecting what is wrong, and integrating what is right.
• Writing or extending tests that prove the result does what the business asked for.
• Sketching or refining a UI against our design system, then putting it in front of the people who will use it and changing it based on what they say.
• Shipping through the team's path to production, then watching what you shipped and fixing what breaks.
• Bringing something past your judgment to a senior for review, and coming away understanding the reasoning behind the answer.

Responsibilities
Build with agents inside the framework
• Direct AI coding agents to build applications, workflows, and AI-enabled tools that meet a stated requirement.

Work directly with the business
• Elicit and refine requirements from stakeholders who describe outcomes rather than specifications.
• Ask the questions that surface the real constraint: who uses this, how often, what happens when it is wrong, what already exists.

Own the quality of what you hand off
• Check your own work first, so reviews spend their time on judgment rather than on things you could have caught.

Grow into the system, then help improve it
• Get productive inside the framework quickly. We will invest real time in onboarding you to it, and we expect that investment to pay off in weeks rather than quarters.

What Success Looks Like
At 3 months: You are shipping through the team's path to production without step-by-step direction. You know the framework's rules and work comfortably inside them. Reviews have moved from mechanics to judgment.
At 6 months: You own features end to end, from a conversation with a stakeholder through to production. Business partners come to you directly because you understand their work. Seniors trust the verification you do before handing something off.
At 12 months: You are trusted with ambiguous problems and asked what you think should be built, not just how. Your feedback has changed the framework for the better, and the patterns you work with are ones you helped shape.

• 1-3 years building software with AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or successors) as a primary means of production, not as autocomplete. Professional experience is preferred, but substantial academic, personal, or open-source work counts if you can show what you built and explain the decisions behind it.
• Ability to read code you did not write well enough to tell when an agent has produced something wrong, and to explain why. Years of hand-written production code are not a requirement.
• Comfort working in more than one language or platform, and a habit of picking up unfamiliar ones quickly rather than waiting to be trained on them.
• Working understanding of automated testing, including why a passing test is not proof a change is correct.
• Demonstrated ability to take a vague, verbally described business need and turn it into something buildable, including asking the questions that make it clear.
• Comfort working inside conventions and constraints set by others, and the confidence to question them directly when they are wrong.
• Basic grasp of software architecture principles: APIs, service boundaries, where state lives, why coupling matters.
• Basic grasp of data principles: data models, relational structure, data quality, and why sensitive data needs handling.

• Experience with UI and interaction design, design systems, or Figma, and interfaces real people used.
• Experience with requirements elicitation, user stories, acceptance criteria, or process mapping.
• Hands-on work with agent frameworks, tool use, MCP, RAG, structured outputs, context engineering, or evals.
• Internship, co-op, or professional experience in an enterprise environment with security, governance, or production-support constraints.
• SQL and comfort working with data platforms and BI tools.
• Exposure to cloud services and deployment, in any provider.
• Exposure to geospatial, routing, logistics, transportation, or operations software.
• Relevant AI, cloud, or data certifications.
