Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Linux Engineer to join a critical infrastructure and operations team focused on maintaining the security, stability, and performance of enterprise systems. This individual will serve as a senior escalation resource, supporting complex Linux environments, driving server upgrade initiatives, troubleshooting critical issues, and partnering with product teams to deliver solutions that support business objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess deep Linux administration expertise, strong DevOps automation experience, and advanced knowledge of Puppet. This role is not project-specific or ticket-driven; instead, it focuses on proactive infrastructure management, root cause analysis, patching, security remediation, and resolving high-priority production issues when they arise. Candidates must be able to quickly assess problems, operate independently, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where maintaining operational excellence is critical.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer, maintain, and upgrade enterprise Linux server environments
Develop and support infrastructure automation solutions using Puppet and DevOps best practices
Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing permanent solutions
Support patch management, security remediation, and system stability initiatives
Utilize tools such as Tanium for endpoint management, compliance, and operational support
Act as an escalation point for critical infrastructure issues impacting the business
Partner closely with product and engineering teams to deliver solutions that meet business needs
Drive operational excellence through proactive monitoring, automation, and continuous improvement

Required Skills & Experience
Strong Linux Systems Administration experience in large-scale enterprise environments
Hands-on experience with Puppet for configuration management and automation
DevOps and infrastructure automation expertise
Experience with server upgrades, patch management, and production support
Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills
Ability to work independently and quickly become productive in a dynamic environment

Experience with Tanium
Experience supporting highly available, mission-critical infrastructure
